SINCE TCN:
After high school I attended Sauk Valley Community College for 2
years. I then transferred to Western Illinois University where I
spent the remainder of my college career. I moved back to Sterling
after graduation where I did an internship in cardiac rehab and
corporate wellness at KSB Hospital in Dixon. CGH was my next career
stop where I worked in cardiac rehab and started their first ever
employee wellness program. After spending 2 years at CGH I made the
big move to Chicago. I worked for Advocate Health Care in their
Corporate Fitness division for 4 years before starting my own
personal training company, Escape 2 Fitness. I am in my second year
of owning my own company and although it is very stressful at times
it is extremely rewarding!
I met my husband in July of 2005 at North Ave.
Beach and knew that very day that I had met the man I was going to
marry (my mom was right....when you know, you know!). We got married
this past November in Mexico. We had over 60 people in attendance
and I had my little sister Emily (who is now 21!!) stand as my maid
of honor. It seems like yesterday we were roaming those tiny halls
of TCN. Great memories!
MEMORIES OF SCS:
All the cheerleaders spending hours making "break
throughs" for the basketball team. Lori Porter and Cory Bradshaw not
talking for the first 2 years of dating. The Pekin cheerleaders
taping our routines to steal them! Ugh! They made that movie "bring
it on" after this.....coincidence...I think not. Having to play our
games at St. Mary's gym Riding with April Payne and Lori Porter to
Vocational School. Getting out of school at 12:20 all the time...how
did we do that? Being a FABULOUS cheerleading squad! Trying to make
people believe that I had a graduating class of 7.
MEMORIES OF TCN:
Hay Rack rides at Mr. Kaisers (every year at least
one person got injured) I'll say it again.....raising flags
(crazy!), but pointing was worse! Steak and Shake on the way home
from away games. Our house getting tp'ed and "paper plated" by the
varsity cheerleaders when my mom was the coach. Chris Dean picking
me up by my head and shouting for my mother to come out to the
playground and see. Going to state and thinking that the Springfield
mall was "the coolest!" as well as the Holidome.& 3rd quarter Honor
Roll Field trip to the Cubbies (always a favorite!) Making our
dividers fall out "accidentally" Decorating our "office" with
wrapping paper.
